The new Portofino collection — consisting of a modular sofa, armchair and bed — is designed by Italian architect Jacopo Giagnoni.

Strongly influenced by the spatial attitude of the 1970s — a decade that redefined the relationship between the body, the object and the space — the collection explores comfort as an architectural experience.

In contrast to the rigid architectural frameworks of the time, furniture evolved into softer, more immersive environments defined by modularity, generous volumes and fluid geometries.

Portofino builds on that legacy as a modular system rather than a single object. Its elements combine to form a continuous landscape of seating, where comfort is not confined, but extended across space.

The pronounced volumes and sculptural curves recall the boldness of the era, while a controlled approach to proportion and material refines its expression.

More than a sofa, Portofino acts as a spatial structure — a contemporary interpretation of 70s design, where comfort becomes architecture.

Among the brand-new additions to the 2026 collection is the new Ovvio dining chair, designed by Jacopo Giagnoni.

Defined by its soft architectural silhouette, Ovvio features a fully upholstered body, including the arms and base, creating a seamless and refined visual identity. The continuous upholstery enhances both comfort and sculptural purity, reinforcing the collection’s sophisticated and tactile character.

Another important introduction is the new Dama lounge chair.

As its name reveals, Dama draws inspiration from the female body — expressed through elegant curves, fluid movement and soft proportions. Its sculptural base imitates the shape of a long dress, allowing the armchair to swivel with the graceful motion of a dancing lady.

Constructed with a molded polyurethane shell, Dama combines expressive form with exceptional comfort, resulting in a piece that feels both sensual and architectural.

This year, the Fiji dining collection is expanded with new shapes and finishes, reinforcing its architectural identity and material sophistication.

The collection is presented in a new oval dining version featuring Verde Tino marble combined with high-gloss lacquered legs, creating a strong balance between natural texture and reflective surfaces.

Alongside it, Papadatos introduces the lounge dining version table — a round table defined by a leather-upholstered base paired with a travertine top, expressing a softer and more tactile approach to contemporary dining.

Alongside the new introductions, the Salone presentation also featured some of Papadatos’ established bestselling collections, creating a complete overview of the brand’s evolving design language.

Among them were the Upper, Moon and Balthazar sofa collections, together with the Horizon, Etna and Fiji low tables, as well as the Couture sideboards and bar cabinet collection.

The stand also showcased the fully modular Amadore shelving system — one of the company’s signature and most recognizable systems — highlighting Papadatos’ ongoing focus on flexibility, architectural composition and contemporary living solutions.
